2004 250 xs rebuilt last year gold block

2004 250 xs Opti 20 inch mid minus gear case. Motor has about 490 hours but was rebuilt last year new pistons, rings, gaskets along with new port and starboard thermostats. New oil reservoir with sender and fuel filter. Just ordered new air compressor strainer. Did compression test passed with flying colors. Always starts right up and runs strong. Cowling has 2 inch crack under side clip other than that good condition. Just installed ba rebuilt sportmaster lower but will be keeping that for next motor. This motor literally burns more oil than fuel. Only reason selling looking for an upgrade. Will trade for a 300x or 300 xs minus gear case cash on my end. Gold block which has been claimed to put oitb373 at the prop. Buyer pays shipping. Still mounted if want to to test ride. Very nice fuel efficient motor one of the best Mercs ever made. Looking for $6500 plus shipping minus lower. Lower price if I decide to keep the mid also. Thanks guys

I am a buyer on your motor but not for the that kind of money. Your statement that the gear case was worth 3 is pretty accurate but that would mean that you are wanting 9500.00 if it were complete and that is not realistic. I sold an 06' that I can get back if I wait a little while. Give me a call if you are needing to sell it.

Not trying to mess up anyone's thread but what the difference in these blocks? Black and gold blocks? I have also seen 300 promax with black and or gold blocks. But 300 x have gold blocks also.

Usually it was the difference in a stock or a factory replacement block

Is the 3.2 still left in alodine gold? I know the 250 PRO XS were all painted at some point I have a a couple of 2011's that were black from the factory. A 2005 300X replacement block that was painted black by Merc too. Sorry for the high jack. GLWS.
