Like Greg said here..(knees back in the breeze)
"I've always felt that even a very short ride on the bike is one of the best ways to clear my head of stress. And the time of day I always like riding most is at the beginning of the early evening, right before the sun begins to set. I'm writing this because since getting pneumonia months ago, I finally felt well enough to get on my bike out of a short ride. It was almost a revelation to me; how I almost forgot what it felt like. I really enjoyed that short ride.
DAMN RIGHT! Been on bikes since minibike days (had too as dad and bro had hot rods as boats garage, I had a small "pit to build". Been riding 63 years now, been everywhere USA month long CC rides my HD bagger, Sturgis, Daytona, name it, did it. Many bikes over the years, Motos, Flat Track, Ice racing, Drag racing. BUT?
Have to say this old body mine is worn out, be 67 June 13th. Age 67, but wild fun years? 187! ZERO REGRETS what done! Sold my road bike nephew SoCal, still have my old frame up build Sporty dragbike, my 79 Shovel "chopper", and my rat scoot CH150 "marina runner" and my restored CT70 Minitrail. 5 miles private HOA here roads here, and even the "Mini out"? "Knees in the breeze", and no helmet.
Its all in the ride! All limbs needed to ride, as the head too. Damn right.."blows the lifes crap out the brain".
Quit the road few back. Insane idiots out there, clueless, have to many friends killed over the years.."I didn't see him" Yep, and I will never see him again but in a casket.
Been REALLY lucky me in a "sticky situation" at times, but guess I got good "Angels", that have watched over me to say? " He's a idiot, but a funny idiot, so lets get him out this mess and see what he does next as always entertaining doing stupid!
And actually my mom NAILED in my "Baby Book" at 2 years old. (Damn right still own 3 boats, many motors...)
My take bikes? Stay AWAY from traffic..hit those lonely 2 lanes country, meet real people living there. Or get yer ass IN THE DIRT! Moms baby book 1952..and still at it..bit slowly now, but it aint over until I SAY its over..but the mems forever.......

I just accuired my newest unit, have owned it for 6 months now, still have to go take the class to get my endorsement. keep it fired up, run around my comlex. sold my last bike when my daughter was born 35 yrs ago. my last bike was a Z1R 1000. wanted a sport criser. the thing will do 35 mph in 25 ft. I only need one bike. maby do 5 miles to work and back. I haul 90,000 lbs in city traffic every day in a semi,,, hazmat tanks. I'm sure this class is going to help me evaluate traffic. I just need one bike, too many other worries for any more problems. looking foreward to stretching my legs.

Started riding at 16 on a Honda 1972 CB350 , graduated to a 1973 CB500F then to 1973 CB750F followed by a 1981 1100 Goldwing to what I have now...a 1998 1500SE Goldwing. Along the way I bought my wife a 1974 CB350F which someday I hope to restore. The second pick is my current ride along with my old ride that my buddy bought from me. This was a trip up to Lake Superior a few years ago.

My Dad decided a few years back to ride solo from CT to Alaska and back but only through Canada. Has several bikes but decided to take his Gold Wing. First attempt he ended up with a serious problem in the Northern Territories, time in the ICU and had to give up. Two years later, tried again and did it for his 70th birthday. Gives new meaning to a "long ride".

I like the idea of 2 lane roads, problem here is never at night, deer jumping across the road are a real problem. secondly the nerd that may cross the line and be a head on incident. not going to stop me from riding them but must be ready for whatever. fun out
