Air compressor

Hello every one. New here and would like some help? 1999 optimax 200hp.. while loading boat on to trailer I rev it to slide on I heard a noise and I shut it down quick. Got home and air compressor went, a friend had one laying around so I installed it. I cleaned out the water strainer on the block and a new oil filter. Boat runs great on the hose . Once in the water under load it won't plane or rev high just plows thru only. Got home and ran engine , I unplugged each air injector and heard the diff and same for fuel ones. I'm going crazy can some one please help me ? Thank u

No , belts new from when I did a complete maintenance on it.

Did you clean out the air rails? When the compressor goes, it usually sends crap into the rails and plugs up the air injectors.

The rails are what the fuel injectors and air injectors are attached to. Basically take them off, take the cross over hoses and injectors off them and clean them and the hoses out with carb cleaner and compressed air. Since you ran it without cleaning them first, you should send the air injectors out for cleaning and flow testing. I use Brucato for this service since they know these engines well. If the fuel injectors have never been serviced, sending them out as well would be a good idea.

Brucato for the injector service, 9 times out of 10 when you puke a bunch of metal out of the compressor into the rails your going to be buying air injectors. So be prepared to hold on to your arse.

Yep you need to clean the whole fuel system and all injectors ......there fine metal in the whole system , floating in the oil and going to take out a injector .

Brucato FIS .com .......Integrity Injection /Eurupean Marine.....Hydro Tec Marine.....all of these are good .....pretty sure there are more .....but these are the one i know of .

We have had people send the whole opti rail to us for cleaning. Might be a good idea if you not comfortable taking it apart.

what a day!! Toke the fuel rails off and cleaned them, did not see nothing dirty or water or metal.. clean the heck out of them and cleaned hose's and reinstalled them. Ran to the boat ramp and behold! Same thing only revs under load 2k plus on neutral it will rev high.. I'm going crazy with this motor!! No codes or check engine light ..
