2pc adapter to a 1pc adapter plus the tuner help

Seems straight forward. i was told to make sure the front studs are long enough coming out of my engine block.
I have both kinds of gaskets, all three of them.
The tuners... the one with all the black soot is on my 2 pc adapter, The other one is on the 1 pc adapter i am installing.
I've been told that a shorter tuner is better being I'm going to be hitting 8k on my 2.4 ModVp, but....
The dirty tuner might be 1" taller but it also has larger openings, does that count for anything?
I'm guessing maybe thats a bobs on the left and factory on the right?
I don't need to drill any water passages or anything do i?

What does the top side look like.Your one piece looks like a Bridgport plate.Does your motor match the plate inlet? The hippo gasket may not fit that port.It would work but may leave a small void between the plates.Or you could open them up.

I ended up port matching. The 1 pc was the squarish port and my motor is the rectangle one.
Had to order those something 2121 bolts. I didn't know they were different.

The BP tuners work pretty well,I would use it.Or you could cut an inch or so of the other.

Thats the motor with the big exhaust ports. So I took this 1 pc mid and just quickly ported it to a match. It should do for now. Its all done and reinstalled now. Put a Bobs Extreme 2 jack plate on it today too. Used a Bobs high perf pump and I gotta say i feel like I wasted $600 installing a mercury high performance trim pump, Its literally no faster than my regular pump, very disappointing.
I swear my 88 XP200 can go full up and down three times before this one goes from bottom to top just once.

If you wanted to you could measure and maintain the in and out sizes of both tuners. Compare the ratios and maybe adjust the short tuner to that ratio. It would change the scavenge slightly but Bobs probably tried and tested it ??? Maybe too much for the 8000, need higher?

I was thinking the dirty black one was a Bob's and the cleaner shorter one was stock Bridgeport. But then again I am just guessing. I just left the shorter one on the plate and used it how it was. Didn't want to play the broken bolt game with those tiny bolts and studs.

I don't know who made it, bolts look evil or nut and studs rather. So where you hogged out the opening , that size is the same as the top of the tuner now and before it was smaller than the tuner?

Yes. My gasket matches my engine perfectly so i put the gasket on the 1 pc. and colored the area to hog off in red.

Normally they seem to look like this and this is from having the bigger port gasket on a small port 2.4. Its like an optical illusion, Thats black soot, not a tapered edge.
