    Vision 180 Pro setup

    Vision 180 Pro setup

    Good afternoon,

When I purchased this boat PTP was 4.50". My top speed was 63.5 at 5400 rpm's. Have been raising the motor 1/4" at a time. Top speed has decreased steadily with each raise down to 58.0 at 5500 rpm's. I can trim motor to almost full trim below water pressure drops below 15 psig. My motor is a 150 Mercury Pro Max with 24P Lazer II prop. As I give it throttle it is pushing front end of boat down appears that most of hull is in the water. If I back off of throttle front end appears to rise? I have a great hole shot. It can get on plane very quickly. I feel I need a different prop with a different pitch. I have a 6" Jackplate. Please give me some advise I want to maximize the performance on this little boat. Boat setup as far as fuel and tackle have basically the same during the noted conditions.

Thanks for your help in advance.

go here ta geta start on motor height....

    http://www.stevescustomprops.com/faq...engine_height_

unless someone changed tha gear case.. you should have tha 4 3/4 " 1.87 ta 1.. your rpm is way low and ya gotta hope its set up and/or prop... needs ta be right at 6500 at least... are ya usin' tha trim button when ya hammer it?... sounds like ya not if bow is goin' down when ya try ta go faster....ya gotta use it... might try a 23 or even a 21 original laser or trophy (tha early models, not laser II or trophy plus) on tha stock gear case.. other than that ya jus gotta do lottsa prop testin' to get tha right "one"... jus part of it!

justa note.. tha two i suggested are "small hub" so ya will have a gap between hub and gear case which will let tha motor/prop ventilate..... don't be scared!

Thanks for info. Yes, I'm using the trim. It does this when I have boat trimmed with tail about cowl high. I give it all the throttle and it forces bow down. Before I started raising motor, it would chine walk some when I trimmed the motor. Now I can trim the motor all the way up, it is slower and no chine walk. I know I need a different prop, just need some help choosing. I just want to purchase one prop, not several.
