    Need jack plate help

I recently bought a baker with a land and sea hydraulic jack plate. I Have checked the fluid with the plate all the way up and the fluid is ugly is there a way to drain the old fluid? Also the plate well go down but well not go up the motor runs but plate wont go up. Need some help making it work.

If no drain screw, or external hydraulic fitting to loosen, you can get a fluid extraction pump like used for oil changes in inboard boats.I have a Moeller brand pump. Pretty nice. Suck it out through fill hole. Or a vucuum pump from harbor freight. Do Not get their cheapest one! Junk! Get the mighty vac brand I believe it's called. Go in very carefully as if not to puncture a possible screen filter.
Be sure any friction points are not binding and are appropriately lubed.
Fresh fluid circulated in system might help. Maybe. Possibly. Pray. Good luck.
If it were mine, I would also try to take some load off the system with an engine hoist while trying to raise it. Carefully. Not offering as advice, but something to consider if nothing else works.

Thanks the vac pump sounds like a good idea the fill hole is just so small I hope I can get a hose down it. I have been using a floor jack to the jack plate up. Once its up it well stay up it doesnt bleed down on its own over time. Hopefully new fluid well work other wise I will have to take it apart and take it to a hydraulic shop or find a new plate.
