Yeah, he said it will be a perfect finish and be as true at if we would have bored it. This guy does unbelievable work, don't know how many more years he's gonna be doing it, but I know I'm sure gonna miss him when he hangs it up.

Why not return or sell the .020s and buy .030 so it can be done correctly? I have seen the bores get pretty out of wack and usually different top to bottom. I have bored .010 and had a spot at 12 o clock at the top of the bore and another at 9 o clock at the bottom of the bore the bar didnt touch . So .005 wont clean them up even if you gave them a bit more .007 it still might not clean up. Good luck...

Buy the 030 wisecos and put the 020 wisecos in the box and send them back, thats what some one did to Promarine cause I ended up with 3 020 pistons in 030 boxes

From what he discribed to me, the machine and method he is gonna use will be just like boring it but have the ability to take a smaller amount out than a boring bar could. And is supposed leave a near perfect finish. Now i don't know what the bill is gonna be. May have been cheaper to get another set of pistons and bore it lol.

If it can be done, the Sunnen power hone is the tool for the job! We had one of the first CK 10s in the country, that was back about 1973.Even then it was so easy to correct a very tapered bore.On the hippo car moters we would even reverse taper .0005 thinking that in a couple thousand miles the bore would end up straight with O taper.

Block is ready, but I'm in Hawaii and can't pick it up! He said it came out very nice and all cylinders came out true and to the T. So if anyone else runs into this delima, have them use this method or get with me and I can contact you with Mr Don.
