Unhappy Chris Cornell passed away, 52 years old.

Very shocking and sad. It's being reported that Chris Cornell committed suicide in his hotel room right after they played a Soundgarden concert. Just incredibly sad. Rest In Peace....

You have to wonder what kind of depression, and the cause, could drive a seemingly successful person to do him self in......He needed help and did not get it...that is sad...

I can attribute a fair amount of my hearing loss to soundgarden, audioslave, and temple of the dog. The guy had a phenomenal voice, his live performances were beyond explanation, his range was unheard of. From grunge, to ballads, to blues, guy could sing anything. Guess he just couldn't outrun his demons, which is really sad. As I get older, I feel like I need to see my bands every time they come through, because who knows if they'll be alive next year, they just keep dying young.

And yet I think Willie Nelson might outlive everyone...

Very sad news... As I said in the old songs thread, Seattle is pretty local too me. So it really sucks when a "local" ends like this!

Wow, that is sad, as in unhappy.
I don't understand in this day and age people not seeking help. Nothing wrong with getting help, no one is perfect. I wonder if their fame boost their ego so much that they think they can handle it.
No one should ever feel bad or ashamed about getting help with ANY health problem.

Its true about getting help. I unfortunately know the effects of suicide on the family and friends they left behind. The first one was a classmate of my younger brothers, his step father turned himself into a veggie from a suicide attempt. My mother became friends with the mother, not close, but close enough. That the day of the suicide attempt the family stayed at our house. It was a very horrible situation for years after words. In 2010 my older brothers best friend killed himself. Despite being younger by two years. My brother and his friends often begged me to go out with them. I was good at meeting girls... So I knew him well and still know his family. So I see the after effects of that one. I'm still mad at him for doing it, not for what its done too his brother, his parents, etc. Its that his daughter who was 14 at the time found his body!

Its just a waste when people go that route.
