I would that the Chrysler stacker motors made more power. I wonder what that thing sounded like?

No, I would say no back pressure but pulse wave rebound from flat surface to tuned pair if dimensions are correct. Just can't make it out from the pics. Forward side could be close to insure direction rebound back to chest and ports.

I have to agree. A quick look 51 years ago makes it hard to be sure. Besides I wasn't much interested in OMC stuff back then.

Looking at the steering bar pulley, I would guess this is a static display
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

...Its part of the John C. Harrison Jr. Miami Outboard Collection. Been there for decades. Yes, display only.

How does one get in to see that stuff? I have lived in South Florida for 64 years and raced here for 13 years and until recently had never heard of this collection.

My first McCall, a tunnel boat was built for a local OMC dealer to be powered by a 3cyl 49in 55hp motor. The same dealer also got one for I class to run one of those 89ci motors. He never rigged the E boat and I got a good deal on it. I think he only ran the I boat a few times. The E boat didn't work well with the 44ci Mercury so John built me a much more successful v-bottom boat in late 1968.
