    Pennzoil Premium Plus Price Hike

I am about to order up some Pennzoil Premium Plus for the first time this year and i noticed from my previous purchases on amazon last may the stuff went from $20/gal to $40/gal. Damn. might as well buy merc oil.
I was reading about the Pennzoil XLF and its also a synthetic blend and it also says.........The robust formulation makes Marine XLF Extended Life Formula TC-W3 Outboard 2-Cycle Synthetic Blend Oil also very suitable for new high-displacement/horsepower carbureted or direct injection outboard motors........This seems pretty decent and its only $20/gal. Is there something I am missing here? Its a bold statement saying its good for high horsepower motors and at this price seems worth it. Maybe next time I will buy two yrs worth of oil if it keeps doubling every year. I'm not trying to be a cheap ass here, but my motors go through fuel/oil like its still $2/gal. So what do you think about XLF. All it is is Xtra Life Formula,
If I don't ask any questions, I'll never learn anything.

Thanks for your opinion ChaChaChaz. Thats in the ballpark of what I was thinking. Double the price over winter, Damn. I was thinking this stuff for my OMC primarily and the good stuff for the merkz.

I run Shell Nautalis in everything I own. From 3 hp to 275 hp. But they're OMC's, they will probably survive on cat pee

haha i cant help but laugh when i see oil per barrel at 30+ year lows between 30 and 50 per barrel and gasoline and oil products at all time record highs!! There worse than Crack dealers those cartels that run the oil monopoly. Its a real shame no one has the balls to band together and oust these criminals. They are responsible for driving up everything when there should have been record low consumer goods the past 3 years. A perfect example of why crime pays. These criminals are the worst of the worst and get away with this sort of crap on a large scale all the time. $100+ per barrel pricing still at half the cost. Now that is a market we all should be tapped into. There is no other business with these high of returns other than selling drugs. lol

my thought is synthetic is not even oil based, it's derived from something else. why oil prices are figured into the price does not compute. fun out

Academy is the cheapest around here for all marine oils. Pennzoil Premium plus usually goes on sale for $14.99 about this time each year.

Wow, that's expensive. I use premium plus as well. Matter of fact I bout a gallon yesterday from autozone it was $19. $40 seems ridiculous. You should be able to find it cheaper.

I currently run on Merc Premium Plus, but I am thinking of switching over to Pennzoil Premium Plus. Should I drain the remote tank or just add the new stuff to it? Can the Merc and Pen be mixed?

I'm so used to buying on Amazon, I never thought about looking at my local stores. Great Idea.

Last year Academy discontinued Royal Purple and put everything they had on sale. I ended up buying 15 gallons of oil at $12 a pop. Still using up that stuff.
