How difficult to cut a new windscreen? Lexan or other?

I'd like to replace the windscreen on my Challenger this year, but working with acrylic, Lexan, etc., is new to me. It's 3/16" thick. What's the best type of material to use for this purpose? Been looking at a few different sites and Lexan doesn't look all that difficult to work with, but it's definitely expensive so I'd like to make sure that's the right product before I drop a few hundred on it.

Here's the windscreen I'd like to replace (it's cracked):

The best material to use is "Mar-Guard 2000" . Leave the paper on it and use a heat gun to bend it .
Find something with the right radius , tree trunk , oxy bottle or even the old windshield once you get it off and are satisfied that the guy that did that one , got both sides the same .
Once you have it fitted and final sanded , you can run your heat guy across the top edge and it will make the sand marks go away ...

    Mar-gaurd is just a hardcoated (scratch resistant)polycarbonate
lexan is a brand name, from my experience poly is not really flame polishable like plexi

lexan is rediculouslly tuff stuff, you can pretty much tie it in knots
paper template the existing windshield and go from there, it's easily machined with ordinary woodworking tools

We would bend lexan over the existing glass window on my alfa race car. The glass was removed first for a template. I'd make a large hot box, basically like a bbq grill on low but not direct heat. It would just conform to the glass like magic. Never used Marguard, it wasn't as safe as lexan especially when rocks are pelting it.
If I don't ask any questions, I'll never learn anything.

Thanks for the information all. Found a local plastic fabricator and had them create a new windscreen from Makrolon AR2 abrasion resistant polycarbonate. It came out great, but wow is that stuff expensive.
