2001 Mercury XB 250
For Sale- 01' Merc 250 XB. $2,250 OBO - Read as "Make me an offer"
Strong Merc 250 XB went to the bottom of Toledo Bend. Motor was not able to be pickled in time, and is now for sale for parts. I'd like to sell the complete motor including the steering components and trim to one buyer. Lost the top cowl when she went down, but the rest of the motor is there and in good shape considering. Lower unit was replaced in 15, and the motor did not go down due to hitting anything.
Feel free to email me to discuss: tylerbradfield[AT]gmail.com

Man, the last time I posted about this incident on an Internet forum, it turned into a side show. If you're really curious, shoot me an email and we can discuss what happened. This seems like a little better group with less "trolls" and funny guys but I'm not going down that road for no reason.

This outboard is not listed @ nada. was wonder what the weight is on this.
Any of you experts chime in here if ya would. An OB like this goes to the bottom,
Will it be ok if ya replace all electrical parts? Does this OB have a ECU on it?
Just trying to figure out if this is worth doing. If you think this is fun, wait til next weekend!

I personally contacted Tyler on this motor. He seemed like straight shooter on the phone. I think the weight is about 525 lbs. IMO the electrics would be a crap shoot, some may work. I was more concerned with possible internal oxidation ie clys, rods, crank, brgs, etc. Even so had it not been half way across the country, I would have done an inspection and may have pulled the trigger and rolled the dice.

I'm looking to get rid of this motor guys. It's standing between me and having my boat back. Make me an offer. I think there are plenty of usable parts on this motor to justify reasonable offers. Thanks for chiming in One Oldman.
