    Dw 28 initial test results

Dan ran the boat with the legendary ex offshore racer Rick Bowling for a couple of hours today and turned up to 5800 at 115.8. He still has not changed the motor height or propellers since it was initially rigged so that will be a couple of the next steps for him. The boat "hop" depending on wind and trim is from 63 to 74 mph and that was the worst that they experienced with no head wind, on flat water and trim at neutral. He said that going into a head wind and giving it some more positive trim it became a "non-issue". He is still not out of break-in with these motors and feels for sure that the boat will run low to mid twenties as we expected once he has a chance to get it up to the 6300 rpm goal. This should be a new leader for stock 300XS power on a boat of this size for sure. Dan and Rick were both very happy with how the boat handled and said that it felt very stable and planted as they put it through some of its paces today. We still have some open spots on the special group purchase that I have coordinated. The next boat will be rigged with 400s and is coming to Central Florida.

We will be getting some video footage of future testing soon.

And not to be negative, but I think 400s would be overkill on this beauty.

That picture and the low rooster tail is efficiency in action....I have been very upfront with everyone that is buying one that "in my opinion" they don't need 400s. If one gets into the hands of an inexperienced driver I think the results could be very ugly. I have no doubt that with motor height adjustment and prop tuning these boats will be capable of 125 with stock XS motors and if not then X motors are waiting in the dugout!!

Sounds like another DW28 will be going to Havasu. We will have these things spread across the country pretty soon at this rate.
