Mercury control box wiring help
I'm getting ready to wire up my gauges and need a little help. I'm going to use the original 1993 control box and there is a 5 wire plug with a separate tan wire hanging from the control box. I'm guessing it's for the Tach but I want to be 100% sure. What does the plug and tan wire control? Thanks

The plug has 5 wires. Gray for tach, purple 12v, black ground, brown/white trim indicator, and tan alarm.
