Just curious because i was looking into it online last night on geico. They ask some pretty specific questions. How much HP, top speed and who's driving. Is it normal to say 75 when you can go 130. And 200hp when you have modified it to 275 and what if you borrow it to your buddy? Do you say you have a race hull or keep your mouth shut as in if they don't ask, don't tell. Or do you spill the beans?
If I don't ask any questions, I'll never learn anything.

Is insurance required where you live?
Someone will guide you to the right place.

I have not found an insurance company for my hydrostreams. Everyone wants a surveyor to look at the boats to get a value. They may as well just insure the trailer at what they say my 1973 viper is worth.

Wake zone high performance boat insurance. Great rates and they specialize in everything from bullets to Superboat a to 40' MTI's etc. talk to Stacey.

They may sell you a policy, in fact they probably will. But when something happens and you go to make a claim...not covered. They wrote the policy to insure a stock production hull and a stock production 200hp outboard, etc. They covered you to an expected top speed of 75 mph. When the wreckage of your comp hull and frankenmerc are dredged up off the bottom of the reservoir they will say "we didn't write a policy to cover THAT!!!"

Be honest about what you have, expect to pay $$$ to cover what you have, or assume the risk and the financial responsibility on your own...

I run a Varmint instead of a Vector or Viper because I can insure a bass hull with "high performance" parts such as a low water pickup for speeds in excess of 75 mph easily without having to lie about my rig. I think I am covered to 90 mph top speed. Top speed for a non bass hull is limited to 70 or 75 mph. Details of the limits will depend on carrier.

The game warden also doesn't hassle me in the Varmint, but I would get hammered on the "spot" inspections in my Viper. I don't fish.

Might be a little high for the STV also. I also cannot get my superboat insured but my homeowners covers it as long as it doesnt leave the yard

BG94 I just called my agent. He is gonna send me forms to fill out for 4 boats I have. I'll keep you posted after I hear back from him after I get him my info. It was a good chat about liabilities.

I was insured by Progressive before and switched to Foremost through Wozencraft Insurance. They were the only companies that would insure my 23 with a 350.

In Florida, under 26', over 75MPH is really difficult to get, virtually impossible and none of the national agency's except for perhaps Wozencraft are able to issue policies and they can only issue Foremost for our boats in FL. Foremost is who I have but only their grandfathered marine brokers can write policies in FL, not just any Foremost agent/broker.

Call Nikki at this agency, she worked directly with Foremost to get coverage for my new Talon 22. http://accesseastinsurance.com/

Could never find insurance for my Allison down here. It's other to fast, or the companies that don't care about the speed won't cover a trailered boat in South Florida, due to theft. I'd also be interested if you can find someone to write a policy.
