We don't need to keep poking the bear though. Let the Middle Eastern countries weed their own backyard. Why do we have to continually make ourselves targets for the world's crazies? Let's try some "America First" thinking and get this country back in shape. It's like the airline stewardess says when giving the preflight instructions: "Put your oxygen masks on before you try to help the rest of your family"

I do agree with all you said....But, where do we draw the line when the un/world has banned chemical weapons and we are the only real un member with any real force? We can't sit around and wring our hands. Boots on the ground is a no-no to me. Shooting some missles or bombing strategically is our only viable option. Drone strike the leaders would be my go-to plan in these circumstances.

They haven't had the tech to deliver until the last few years. They have had access to the bomb for decades and a program for that long. With the cease fire still in effect since 53 they haven't changed their policy so why wouldn't they build insurance for themselves in the event of a need.

The only real dog I have in this, is that the US Navy is very close to my house. In that the entrance and exit for US Naval Station Everett is only about 30 miles from my house. The US Navy also leases a Naval station here in BC, that they run jointly with Canada. Nanoose Bay. So its concerning when North Korea makes threats about the US using justified force in Syria again. Considering their missiles can only hit Seattle and the closest military targets are as close as 30 miles to 80 miles from my house, including Seattle!

I have the same home town type feelings for Seattle as I do Vancouver. So not only would nukes be bad here, as in it could kill me and family, friends, etc..... Even today most of my television comes out of Seattle and Washington State. So I'm basically a Washingtonian in thinking.

For safety and security of my homeland. I'm all for strikes against Syria and ISIS. Id even support an air attack on North Koreas military.

Biggest reason I support the USA military 100%, is because id be either speaking German or Russian now without them.

I just remember in elementary school back in 1981/2 time frame and St Helens volcano erupted. My school grounds had ash from the eruption by the afternoon of that deal. So a nuke on even Portland would have consequences here!

I'm not worried about Russia. Its fairly easy to contain and isolate Russia. North Korea is a whole another kind of nuts!

I'm not too worried about Russia either. Trump & Putin are tight (if you believe the democrats) and now Syria is shopping for about 20 new MIG fighters plus Putin didn't have to waste any of his intercept missiles - win/win for him.
