Guessing that your current prop "go to" will not cross over with this 400?

Same pitch you used on the 300s, just bigger diameter for the 400?

Randy, We tried the Max 5's on my buddies 308 Skater w400r's and they worked ok but were about 3 mph slower than the cleavers. Jumped right up on plane though and had good mid range.
I would think a pair of Dewalds would make your liberator run very well.
He is pretty good about people trying his props.
The single should run in the high teens if the slip is around 8% or less.

Joe Perog has a pair of 34 Dewalds that I will try Friday when I get the Max 5's. Which cleavers were faster? I know the 5 blade Merc C+C cleavers are faster, but they are also $5000 each!

Both 5 blade mercs and also 5 blade dewalds thru-hub. However on your boat my bet is on the over the hub cleavers from Dewald. I have not had seen a 28' or 24 skater run better than any other prop. Dale ran 120mph with his 28. Tom Kennedy ran in the 120's with his 24 and 28 at LOTO.
Those props were 14.75 + 34's and Dales closer to 35p for Optis.

What price point are you looking at for this boat and are you interested in a Liberator comming home in a trade? Really interested in those 400R engines. Blaise

I have the boat as rigged as much as I can until the motor comes in. I'm putting in the 40 ounce floor carpet today. Here it's taped of so I can spray the contact cement glue.

Here's some pics of the current rigging. The hand throttle/shift will also be combined with a foot throttle. There will be a switch so you can use the hand or foot throttle. That's one advantage of "fly by wire" controls.

I weighed and setup the boat identical to my new ones. With 4 people, 1/2 tank gas, 2 anchors, and 2 coolers, he still runs over 96. My next idea is to put his computer on a new motor.

I talked to Wally about a 2015 21 LIB/300XS a bud of mine has about working the bottom and he said there is lots of speed to be found under those boats. After all it was designed as a jet boat then converted to outboard.

You may want to check with Mercury on the dual control setup. As of last fall they had disabled that feature due to some technical glitches. They had a couple of documented cases where the DTS lost its mind on switchover and defaulted to a WOT condition.
