Did mercury make a 200x?
Guys,
WhenI bought my boat, the guy said is had a 200X motor on it. It had a weak cylinder but it ran. I pulled it off and put a 225pm on it. But I can't find any information on a 200X. I see stuff about a 225X but not for a 200. It's got the down draft intake, motoralla electronics(alternator) etc. got a buddy needing the block because he blew his 200efi up. So my questions are:
-is it a 2.5?
-are they o ring heads or gasket?
-will his electronics/education system all work on that block
-is there any differences in ports in the block
I don't have the motor available to look at right now or I could give ya the members on it I just trying to find out any info I can in the mean time.

yes,they were built from late 01 to 05,there is a 2.5 150,175 and 200 efi with the motorola electrics,the 225x was made from 02-05,it has an unpainted block,yes,o ring heads,the 200 block has different porting than the 225x,No 200x just efi,they all have o ring heads and the opti style oil injection,great motors i love my 03 200,rebuilt it with wsm pistons,their weak link is plastic caged bearings,the 225x promax is a stout piece,the 200 aint too shabby either
