What is the best filler for blending in a nose cone

Seems like the Bondo with the fibers in it is still coming off too easily...is there anything better?
    Thanks

Splash zone epoxy works great due to its ease to shape and fill. But kinda pricey for just one job. Gotta make sure to rough metal and rub in until has good adhesion to metal before start building up.

PC 7 has worked well for me. PC 11 is the marine version which I don't think is necessary. Both available at Ace hardware or Home Depot

In my last photo, which is an Evinrude XP200 with a Land and Sea cone. The nosecone is about 1/8" thick where it buts into the edge of the original lower unit. If you note there is about a 1 1/2" bridge between the raw aluminum and nose cone which makes a very smooth transition. so the filler material goes from nothing to only 1/8" thick which is the white stuff which is marine tex.

One reason would be that it most likely doesn't sand well at all. Could be wrong but sanding aluminum loads paper quickly( epoxy also for that matter). Gary

if your going to sand aluminium then put a bit of wax on the paper, it helps keep it clean, same with grinding wheels !!! it actually works.

That's the good thing about the splash zone, you wet your hands and can get it shaped so that there is very little sanding. I made my torque tan with it and shaped it like I wanted it with little dress up. That stuff works like pottery lol. It's what I also do the stuffing and filling in blocks with. So use plenty of it. Sucks to buy it for just one job though. It takes some getting used to, but once you get it figured out how to work the stuff it's great!

I think Jamestown distributors has in 1 qt size. Found works better to mix as dry you can with least amount water. Rub into metal until it is stuck then build up. Wet your hands and begin to work and smooth it out until it's like you want it. Here's an oil pump void I filled with it, takes very little work afterwards to dress it up
