Trim motor
I have a 89 merc with 3 wire and it needed replaced so replaced it with the newer 2 wire system from db electronics. I installed it and wired it up all but the trim switches i hooked one trim switch and ran it up it worked for a few seconds then blew a fuse. After awhile of trying to figure out why i removed motor and took it apart everything looked ok except for a small peice of magnet was missing off of the top of it but it was assembled that way because it is not inside and there is nothing else out of the ordinary. I reassembled it same thing i ran it on the bench off of a battery ran it for a couple short burst now nothing. I read that you could run iton a battery to check it is this correct and any ideas thanks

Send it back to DB. It has some kind of problem. Should run off a good battery.
