Xtreme/Viking: this is where I got the info from.Jamestown dist. is the site I looked at for what they have.I have a call in now to a rep from Prisma in Fla.I spent 7 hrs on the boat yesterday.all the stringers are coming out.!the main center one was not as bad as the others, until I got up to the dash area.the whole damn thing fell apart in the hands so to speak.I did leave about 2" up from the bottom on the center stringer, that thing is "Solid".planning on putting a prefab stringer right on top,and maybe some hull planks or stifners running parallel front to back.the toe board was like a rock, but under and in front was a total disaster.they put a filler board in front of the toe board all the way to the nose, glassed the top,but not the underside.all that will be history. So far ,I am guessing that with the wood water and glass about 250#`s or more.hoping replacement will be maybe half.thats all for now.

well I got a few more hours in on Friday.95-98% removal done, just the two half`s of the flotation boxes and a bit up front under the deck.that piece that's under the deck is a $itch.i ground on the floor some and now have some "GREEN".going to get my shopping list started and get some supplies on the way.I will start finishing the corners and grind the balsa down to the green and get the 36 grit disc out(can`t find 16 anywhere).I need a day in between to recover!!!.

Any welding or body shop supplier. Maybe home depot, look by the welders. Or just search "16 grit resin fiber sanding disc" on Amazon.

HAHAHAHAHA! Yes that is not for the faint hearted or the unskilled ! This is for professional's ,24 grit is ok but 16 grit sorts the men from the boys !!! Best for getting an excellent key onto an old glass surface there is non better !.

The cubitrons by 3M are amazing. Made with the pointy end out! They cut and peel more than grind. My sanding disc of choice.

Getting rid of old rotten grotty what ever is just a part of the excise!, the quicker the better right !, BUT the preparation and key to the sub surface that will get bonded to with new core or new glass that's the important part !!
16 GRIT DISC is ideal and scuffs and raises a part of the old glass fibers so you get a really excellent physical bond to the old surface !.
