Basically did it the same as you are. Fabricated metal frames, bolted the hull to them, and then cut it apart and slid the framed hull pcs on U channel rails bolted to the floor with forklifts. Hard work for sure..

You guys are cranking. It has taken me a long time to get mine just a few steps ahead of where you guys are at. This is one of several projects that I have going so it is far from full time or attention but its been in process for what seems like forever. The deck should be faired in and done next week then we will attack the body work before it goes back upside down and install the new experimental running surface. This is all a ton of work for an old boat but it will be one of a kind when its done-I just hope it runs like we are thinking. You can see in the pictures that its just a touch beyond what it should be for width but I wasn't going through all of this without getting at least this width out of it.Click image for larger version.

Joe, looks good and familiar. Wait to you see what we did with a 24. It is going through the same steps as the 21, but we have to finish the 21 first.

I would have been miles ahead just waiting for you to do it. Are you adding the strake up front like we discussed?

No, I am building these more like an F1 bottom versus the traditional step bottoms.

Damn it Joe, I was trying to save some of this for future write ups. We are even re-working a 28, but since Pete is starting to build them again, we will NOT be make a mold off it. I will start another post about this project at a later date.

Not removing all of them, it is more of a design change. We have been able to modify the bottoms to reduce the porpoise hugely in the 24's and 28's and gain another 2-3 mph on top end.

Sounds good does it affect the rough water ride? I like the staggered Chines that makes a lot of sense to me. Love the work you guys are doing and sounds like I'll be trying to squeeze another boat in the garage.
