This event sucked, at least for me. All I wanted to do was ride in the boat for a while with my buddy and mind my own business, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, it couldn't happen that way and it cost me a TON of money. At the lunch stop I was tied up to the dock in my 25' Talon and a gorgeous 28 Eliminator with twin blown big blocks and lotsa' really cool hardware tied up beside me. After a little while I overheard a conversation between the owner and a guy who'd tied up beside him. It went something like, "yeah, I'd sell it. I want XXX for it." So I walk up on the bank where Halffast is talkin' with some guys and said "you know what the guy with the Eliminator said he wanted for it?" Half said "you heard him wrong". So I went back and asked again and the owner said, yep, that's the number. So what was to be a care free and inexpensive day on the water turned out to be VERY expensive. Hell, I'm not a big boat guy. I miss those STV Mod VP's I had. My 25 Talon feels like a Carnival Cruise ship to me. I may boycott it next year before this same guy comes back and brings one of his DCB's or some other hotrod that I like better than this one. And just because you raised almost $12,000 for the Shriner's Children's Hospital on your first sponsored Poker Run event doesn't make my financial hardship feel any better.
