I cant tell from the pics, do you have a torque tab on the skeg?

It made a huge difference on my Charger. It tracks straighter and turns in either direction easier. For the 15 or 20 bucks, and a few minutes of work I'd recommend putting one on.

I have the original one I just haven't made a hole in the drag plate I made

No, not that one. They don't even get in the water at speed. I mean one you rivet or screw to the skeg.

As for the scag thing I know what u mean and no wasn't going to put that on this year

Put it on. It really makes a difference in steering. I run dual cable on the SK, and with the tab I can almost let go of the wheel at WOT. I drill the skeg to match the holes in the tab, rough up the back side of the tab and matching part of the skeg, smear it with JB Weld, and use aluminum rivets.

One thing I have found over the yrs is that any planing (drag) device on my small or large boats works better when the leading edge is turned up to keep as much of the water as possible going under the plate to lift the LU. Just my observation. BTW the new carbon fiber plate I just bought for my Viper is turned up in the front. Gary
