ID:	369914Well, sixteen days and we're ready to start to assemble.Did the last of the gel coat this morning.Had some left so did the seat frames in resin then topped with gel.Almost seems a shame to cover the nice new floor with carpet, but WTH! Not going to put the back seats in now, just going to keep it clean and simple. A couple shots of the transom, before and after. Ten plys vs twenty five.Click image for larger version.

Great work! Ya have the same rear seats as mine? Side by side, facing each other? Remember just 2 floor clips (each) to hook in mine, but seldom in. It was a bitch getting on plane even tucked in. Surface prop, little trim to work with, running a 2B cupped 14x28 SS meant "everybody up on front 'till it hooks up, and "sit down, shut up, and hold on!. If more ..or fatter?, 14x19 bronze 3 B on, the ski prop. Best boat of maybe 2 ever owned..(Damn right the other was a ALLISON!)

With all that carpet every where get a dehumidifier and a close fitting cover and every time you use your boat place the dehumidifier inside and cover the boat and see how much moisture it sucks out YOU WILL BE AMAZED ! IT KEEPS THE WHOLE BOAT DRY !!

Messing round with boats is fun !! the learning never stops ,even after more than 30 years there's always something new happening somewhere ! BUT somethings never change and some problems never go away and just keep reoccurring !!so moved into Composite Forensics , Now that something completely new !!

The floor is glassed and sealed, even if it gets wet a day in the sun and it's dry. Air flow under the cover is important even when it's in the garage . We leave boats in the water for months, covered when not being used, just let it breath. Dehumidifier, not once have I seen that. Couple times a season with the Hoover to keep the sand out .

It dry's the whole inside of the boat As in every where, totally !!No condensation ,no moisture, timber, glass, and specially the carpet ,No musty smells. Its amazing what it does for Cabin boats Most guys cant believe the amount of moisture that comes out !! air flow does little to dry anything !! In salt water the air flow actually make condensation with the salt crystals !! where as dehumidifier takes away and completely dries EVERYTHING ,EVERY WHERE, TOTALLY !!

YOU ONLY NEED TO DRY THE INSIDE OF THE BOAT THATS ALL !!tHE AMOUNT OF cubic feet of AIR IN A GARAGE OR BOAT HOUSE IS HUGE !! A close fitting plastic cover is all that's required and the dehumidifier inside under the cover !.
Its how I have dried natural native timbers for wooden floors for years and works a treat every time !.

All the Air we breath has humidity !! That moisture is every where as in EVERYWHERE !! A DEHUMIDIFYER WILL LOWER THAT HUMIDITY to as low as you want and take that moisture out OF THE AIR !
WITH DRY AIR everything else dries as well and it sucks moisture out of everything totally !
We used this to dry cloths HANGING UP in our laundry and to keep the back side rooms of our house dry that never got sun !.
When I laid wooden floors id lay a big plastic sheet on the floor first and stack and fillet the timber on top and seal the timber inside the plastic and place a dehumidifier inside the bag and DRY TIMBER !! Only ever took just a matter of days till it was completely dry ready to be laid !NO CLAMPING REQUIRED !! then the timber would RE-acclimatize and re absorb humidity to it surroundings and swell and tighten the gaps 100% closed !NO HEAT REQUIRED AT ANY TIME

Simple covered with air flow in and out. Have a private HOA 110 slip marina, and trailer boats out the rainy, but many simple slipped year round, rag boats, big cruisers. No shore power either. More concern the damn birds crapping on it, taking over.
Also the Switzer his is a 76. As has same but a 74. His boat needed a transom as hanging more HP than the Swit boys intended. Built for the new IL XS1500. Its 41 YEARS old boat and rest fine after all the decades. Bet as top popped, total sealed (again), we will ALL be dead before it "rots out!
On a dehumidifier? Ever try doing something inside? With normal air flow..(house, boat, etc) and then out side and see what ya get water? Probably the same. All it does is suck moisture out the air. Unless a vacuum enclosed room. Hmm..why do the make HUMIDIFIERS?
Its a damn boat..USE IT! Its GONNA GET WET! Just need air exchange. Not a prob me 60 years...(JMHO..don't take life so serious..use it..its all ya got)..

You need to understand what simply drying the air can do and will do specially in enclosed spaces takes the moisture out of everything nothing excluded will and can dry the bilge end to end including the cushions and bedding , even cloths hanging up inside a shut up cruiser and does no harm !! get rid of musty smells and mildew and mold !
