Ya,was pleasantly surprised @95 the the 280 was turning about 77-7800 was about a three inch chop with about a five knot tailwind.Once it set, felt solid all the way, just ran out of lake.

Bobby S would be IMPRESSED! Had they made more than the XS then, ya know damn well he would have "hooked on bigger"! Him and Dave SURE knew how to build a hull! Sure, jack it up a inch! Mine with the XS middle 70's rock solid, very little "sawing wheel" to stay on the pad. Beast! All could say is watch the trim out as it was not prone to kiting, but one stupid wave and air under the hull (been there, done that but came down nice) Thanks the thread on the restore as one hell of a great boat! Wish I still had mine!
Also better show it the Switzer Regatta this year, hopefully Bobby will be there but him, as Tom and April, getting old so who knows how long the tradition will continue. PLUS? "those damn chickens on the grills"! Damn, wish I wasn't away the Midwest 23 years now, but the best damn gearheads, fun loving, great food, and all around "da best". Still in my blood though, always will be....
Wish the best!
OH YEAH! NEED A VID! The cockpit to show any wheel movement at with the those speeds! Also, like the now right foot "go pedal"? Did a GREAT job it...proud of ya!Last edited by Robby321; 05-30-2017 at 06:57 PM.

Super! I WAS gonna say on the weight motor kiting, but thinking back one night at the Fox Chain, went down Fox river hitting the bars. Had 3 others with me. Left back at 2 am wasted up river with a low fog, maybe 5/6 foot. Knew the river well, stay to the right, and simple "nailed it" Just came under a bridge and saw some high up bow light left? DAMN! Plowing barge big cruiser! Zero time to lay off, and hit the 4 foot wake! Night and didn't see it, but knew.."oh ****". "TO THE MOON ALICE"! Yep, cleared the low fog and FULL MOON above! looked back and rear white light showed ZERO WATER as boat prob 5 foot in the air!
VERY forgiving hull, even with 300 pounds rear seats, my and GF me close 250 front. Damn! Came down (think I cleared the second wake like a motocross rider on jumps) but after, slowed down "everybody OK"? Goofy "Silly Billy" in the back says me .."all the beer is shook up asshole"! Great times.....simple loved that boat, and the people in it!
OH YEAH, one more mem! Lived 45 mile back from the lake house Fox (Pistakee) and a bunch my old (snow) skiers gang, the "Downhill Derelicts" out closing down the bars. Said "LETS GO OUT IN MY BOAT"! So me and Rita front, Vic and Gordy rear sitting on the floor (hang on) facing the rear as had facing seats out. Going WOT, hit some chop and Gordy kicks floor mounted Fire Extinguisher and broke the pin! DAMN! Those were the "white powder days", but not THIS! Nozzle facing forward, windshield sucked to front powder. Thought torched the motor? HA!
Thanks again the thread, as got a chithouse mems that old Swit/XS........

Romp was great us usual!! Only thing is, I woke up with a massive headache Saturday for some reasonI'm blaming the bunny A switch from the 30 RE4 to a 30 cleaver yielded 97.? regularly. And it looks like the motor still needs to come up at least an inch. I think there's a triple in their. I just gotta find the right combo.Im getting old, having a windshield seemed pretty nice!!!
