Need help with 260 piston removal
Here comes dumbest question ever. I was checking piston ring clearance by pushing #3 piston in the cylinder backwards. The piston ring slipped passed the bottom end of the sleeve and the ring expanded. How the hell do I get the piston back out?

go in from crank side and use your fingers to squeeze the rings back in.
its what god gave you fingers for.

I remember awhile back someone asking the same question, he had the pistons just barely in the bore and his young kid pushed them to the bottom, don't remember the outcome.

Can you slip a looped end of braided fishing line over the end of the ring and slide it around midway so you can pull it out or try to rotate the piston with the ring looped pulling the ring off as you turn ?

heat the block to 500 degrees for 1 hour and pull the sleeve out with the piston!!!

Is this being done with the crank in ?
put a pic up of the crank in the block and show us why you cant get it back up.
if its past the bottom of the sleeve then take the ring off, use a feeler gauge to lip round the ring.
easy fix.Last edited by phillnjack; 02-25-2017 at 07:52 PM.
