    2.5 carb intakes

If I were to look for a high performance 2.5 carb intake, which i am. which one would I want?

Seems to me I would want a 7 pedal with factory cross drilled holes. I don't care about idle quality.
So what motors would those come from and are they black or naked or don't matter.
    Thanks

Maybe I should mention that I am using 5 pedal sport jet reed cages which are for 7 pedal intakes.

7 petal cross drilled would be from the Mercury Racing 245 hp carb motor part number 817084. Unfortunately don't think these are available from Mercury anymore. Keep your eye out in the used market. Can use a 2.4 version and mill the bolt holes to match the 2.5 pattern.

I have both the 2.4 7-petal and an 245 intake. The 245 intake openings on the reed side is wider. So I would think it is superior. Also feel the 2.5 doesn't like cross drill as much as the 2.4. Just a little info I've noticed about the intake openings but never saw brought up.

Did you want to sell me the 2.5 245 intake? You can PM me. I have nothing at all and I need something.

No, took me forever to find it, that's why I have both lol. Bought the 2.4 first then later found the 245. Which is cool because now I have 2 to experiment with. Just keep your eyes open they will pop up.

Sounds like your 2.4 seven petal is from the old production 200 hp 2.4. The Mercury Racing 2.4 carburated Bridgeport engines intake was pretty much the same as the 2.5 intake. Just going from memory and its been long time.

Makes sense, wondered why no one had ever mentioned that.
