    Video: This is almost hypnotizing...

I have always been so impressed watching anybody at a craft that they are obviously masters of.
Watching this video of this guy rebuilding a transmission was at first something I would normally not sit through, but I just kept watching it. Just very interesting and cool at the same time.

When I'm not working on diesels, I'm doing transmissions (Ford Master Tech in both). Transmissions had a steeper learning curve for sure, but when all is said and done I have work when nobody else does. Plus someone needs to be the butt of all the tranny jokes....

When I started my transmission business 39 years ago, if you could build five or six transmissions you were a transmission expert. We quit stocking a complete line of parts when that number reached about eighty different models. The market today is well over a hundred. Its not uncommon for a newer trans to have 200-500 parts! so with nearly 100 trans out there, thats a lot of parts to keep track of in your head.AND putting the 200-500 parts in the right place, is the easy part! Troubleshooting and diagnostics are where a builder becomes an expert! Just seen the post above!! Don't get me going on the tranny jokes. When I started this business, there were only good tranny jokes.
