    Carbon Cleaner?

Anyone have any suggestions on what to use to clean carbon deposits out of the exhaust? I've got a V6 'Rude torn down for a rebuild, and I figure I may as well clean up the exhaust side while I've got it apart.

Engine tuner and a stiff brush (not steel). spray it on, let it soak, spray it again, let it soak, spray it one more time and start scrubbing.

Did a nice job on my truck engine with 100K on it...... Click image for larger version.

mercury power tune is pretty good, and so too is oven cleaner if you have it all apart and can get at some stuff with a good stiff brush.

Doesn't oven cleaner attack aluminum? I thought about using it, but I don't want to hurt the block.

Oven cleaner contains sodium hydroxide, which reacts vigorously with aluminum, if you use it, rinse it fast........I prefer Engine Tuner, Power Tune etc. Safe on aluminum, I use it on everything including cleaning the gum out of the carbs etc......
