It's actually pretty heavy as far as STVs go haha the euro is the heaviest of all the STVs out there but mine was a "light" lay up in 93... that's bare hull mind you... no motor, gear, fuel etc

I would guess a 22 should get you in the RPM range. Yamaha drag is a good one but IMO a big ear chopper would probably carry the weight better. Keep in mind the chopper will create bow lift so be careful. I have never owned a Euro but I'm sure someone with one will chime in. I'm basing guess off weight and distance and I wouldn't be afraid to that motor on the fun side of 8K.

I've got a 26p big ear chopper.. I'm gonna give it a shot, I've heard a few people suggest the yammi drag too..Ya hopefully a few fellow euro owners will chime in at somepoint... I only said top out at 8k because the motor is stock and I've heard they stop making power at 7500 so anything above would be pointless, next year I'm gonna get the motor drag cut and experiment with some different heads but I've almost reached my budget for this upcoming season lol!

I agree with you on the Yami tried all kinds of different cuts and keep going back. IMO a 26 will be to tall for 800' and I'm thinking 8K could be tough and the ET would suffer. I've seeing more guys running 4 blade with success but have never tried one.

Have you had to have the yamaha drag worked or right out of the box? You've run them on euros?

Thanks for the input! I'm gonna try and get my hands on as many props as I can and do a lot of testing before race time! Just thought I'd start this thread to have an idea of what to test and what to stay away from!

I have a couple stock ones and a few that are worked. I have a 26 that was worked for an stv that runs amazing but is really thin and I only run it for radar runs. The stock ones still hit harder than the ET props I have tried in the same pitch. I have ran a couple srx props as well and they did nothing for me in my opinion. Top end was good but I would still take a drag 4 and lose the 2 or 3 mph that I did.

I have a 95 Euro with what is essentially a 2.5 pro stock motor.

I recently bought a mazco re3 29p for all around lake use, but it sounds ike the yamaha is the way to go for drag... I'll have to try a couple different pitches and dial it in. Do yu think it would be worth sending my chopper to be ET cut or don't even bother with the ET?

They work ok, If you were closer I wouldn't mind letting you run the ones that I have. I've honestly never ran just a true chopper on the boat before. So you might want to give it go, if it doesn't work for you at least then you know for sure.
