I really hope it goes to someone who can restore it to it's original red and flame paint job. I would love to see it preserved. Unfortunately, I have to let go of some projects like this and focus on the new boats and the repair work. Thanks again. Todd

I just talked to Gary Pugh who built this boat today 03-14-17 at 5:50 pm.


The boat that set the record did it in 7-20-2000. That boat was wrecked at a later date. For all of these years I was under the impression that the boat was rebuilt, but after today's conversation with Gary Pugh, it was not. That boat was a total loss and this boat was a totally new boat built for Jon Wright in 2003.


I apologize for the confusion . For all of these years, I believed I had the record boat. This was a hit to the head for me.


This boat made some very fast passes and was owned by Jon Wright, but is not the official record holding boat.
