So Gordon is the reason the water is a little murky in the South Fork of the St Lucie River. It all makes sense now

Curious on why he has some with the E-tec front and others with the slide? Customer preference or use dictated?

Slides are newer see them more on drag boats. In my experience Slide intakes are not very lake friendly especially with a Gearcase that doesn't ratchet and big props.

You don't like checking the shine of your deck with your nose? Nice looking motors, there is enough room on the single slide to hide the nitrous bottle under the cowl.

I think all of Monty's RACE V-8s have his custom made E-tec front half....just some have slides and some have his custom E-tec intake. Actually I think the one in your video (triad v21) and the one on the Whitehead's v-8 (red q-shot) might be the first E-tec slides he's done. They (Whiteheads) used the Taylor x-front with Galen slides at first but I think they were a pain in the arse to set up, tune, etc and probably a bunch of extra weight. Monty's stuff is awesome!

Taylor Slide, Omc 1.75 case, Cable steering, on a Qshot (which has brakes built in), not strapped in =

Yup Gordon's front half/slide cut 60lbs off the Powerhead. Apparently Taylor X front is heavy.
