Cool Who managed to buy THIS?

I spotted this beautiful Boston Whaler on Ebay and I was wondering if anybody here purchased it. The boat is obviously in a newer era than the engine but it still looks amazing.

It's interesting that the seller mentions that the boat was not painted, but it has new gelcoat. The boat ostensibly sold for $6995 one bid. The Ebay listing is here.

My son has almost the exact same boat. (Except his is a 1987 15' Super Sport with a 4 cylinder Mercury 40 HP on it.) And I can tell you that it's one sweet little boat to bomb around it. I don't know if I could bring myself to get the one in that auction wet for fear of getting it dirty!

I grew up with a 13 foot whaler with a 40 johnson. They still get crazy money for even crappy ones.

Used to ski behind a buddy of mines 13 ft. whaler way back when, looked just about like that one save for a little newer motor.

It had the old 4 cyl Merc 50...and it did fly pretty good when not pulling a skier!!

They cut the one in half on LBI when I was a kid. Also tested the British seagull engine the same day.

Did whalers warranty work for 12+ yrs, saw a lot of reasons to have a foam filled boat...Still have a mold set to make a flats boat out of the 13'- 17' models. Great boats. Grew up in a 13' myself with a variety of motors.
