Any mods done to the engine? I modify/build the 2L quite often and even with all the work I do, I still utilize the stock carbs and rejet. Most have the wh-29 very rarely do i swap carbs ( usually only if it has the small 135 carbs). You can put any carb on it you jet them. Just my 2 cents.

My avatar is a 2L that I built for me and it had the Wh-33's on it. I tried a set of WH-46's on it and it ran like crap with stock jetting and was "4 stroking" at WOT. This was a modified engine with a horizontal front. After all my testing, I settled on the WH-33's with a .008 jet increase and it was a beast. Just my experiences.

If you install the heads make sure to go up at least .002 on the mains. I like the 2L as they wake up with very little work. Light port work, slag clean up, oil injection gear fill, and cut heads. I have several of them out there all with the same combination on them. All of my customers were impressed.

Here is one I done on a 17' ranger. It picked up over 10 MPH on top with the mods and lost 5 seconds off the hole shot.
