Fujimo, those parts are bad ass! Can you imagine a company spending the time and $$$ to build those today??

I remember being in high school (mid '70's) and taking a catalog to school w/a Hilborn injected 500 HP Mercrusier that I used to just stare at. Was probably, actually a Kiekhaefer catalog.

Amazing stuff, we'll never see again.

No.
Was at Cedar Point amusement park in Ohio.
Is part of a ride in background.

Have pixs from same race of Bertram Moppie, Slap Shot, etc.

Also had pixs of the BZ III which was a custom aluminum boat w/triple Chrysler stackers but those shots have disappeared.

Yes! Cedar Point! Was always a crazy rough race. Tore boats(and racers) up more than the ocean. Would like to see a photo or two of BZ 3 boat. Very narrow boat right?

Yes, w/round bottom. I followed them while testing and they were having problems getting it to plane.

I was a kid then, w/a 8' hydroplane and remember a local fisherman telling me the racers were in for a surprise, thinking they were going set all kind of records there.
He was right. I remember Powerboat mag called it the "Race on the stormy mud puddle" ��
