2000 merc 150efi timing
What should the timing be at wot? Or if it's set as manual says at 23 what will it be at wot? 25? I don't have the idle stabilizer hooked up.And I mix my oil.

23 is wot, 25 is max you want to go on pump gas. Idle timing set to preference of idle speed in gear. If it has cdm ignition be careful because will not give all timing until above 5000 rpm. If switchbox ignition set it to 23 at wot. Hope this helps.

Switchbox ignition will have the two boxes stacked on top of each other on stbd side and cdm will have black plastic module on top. Thought 2000 was cdm. Make sure you don't have any black plastic plastic modules hooked to ignition before setting timing.

Not 100% sure I think it takes away 5 degrees timing up to 5000 rpm. I know some do it on trailer to where prop can cavitate and actually bring it above 5000 rpm to make sure all is working correctly. But other than that not sure what manual says to set the timing at static, I would guess 5 degrees less than desired? I'm not dead set on the 5 degree thing, hopefully someone will chime in to clarify it for both of us. I do know if you set it static to 23 you'll fry it lol

Its a switchbox. Disconnect the two black boxes and set timing with boxes unhooked.

I have the port side box disconnected. What is the box on the port head there? And i believe I have a box on top of the starboard head also but not 100%. So disconnect the idle stabilizer and what else?

Module on top is detonation control module, it can remove a couple degrees timing when senses detonation. (The big plastic one) I always like to unhook it when setting timing to make sure I'm reading the max timing could possibly be, the module can only remove timing. Module on side is idle stabilizer, but looks like you got that. These should be only two hooked to ignition.

so remove it. remove all plugs except #1, disconnect the throttle linkage, hook timing light up, hold it WOT while turning the engine over and set it to 23??
I tested the TPS last night and got it to .256 i think it was(between .240-.260). Since i mix my oil how can this affect it running lean or rich?
