should be #8584521 for perimeter/spegetti for 2.5 drag, which is same as fishing 2.5
I was wondering what combustion chamber oring merc used on s3000/drag?
My billet drag heads use 8597721 (same as fishing) which are directional and beefier then 280 orings (non directional)
Now on my 280 PH,i have a set of Diamond cut heads which also use 8597721,but of coarse you have to use 280 perimeter oring cause of the diff head bolt pattern..

The orings on my drag heads are directional and l think are wider than the 280 ones.Maybe they are the same as the DI motor.

really puzzles me why Merc changed bolt pattern on heads and went with smaller orings on 280??

I can see why to change the bolt pattern. On the other 2.5s the head bolt boss is really thin and is prone to cracking, the 280 has got some meat there. As for the o rings I don't got a clue, other than most hi output two strokes seem to use the small diameter silicon based o rings.

Combustion O ring for the Drag is the same as the fishing motor. The 280 is the oddball on tha water side and combustion.
