This is kinda backwards to the usual problem of when it gets hot it loses fire.....new one on me. Like WTF a V-King said what the heck are you heating up on the motor?...carbs? trigger? coils? fuel pump? block itself?

always had a cold start issue, and I would take the motor cover off on the left side and wedge the blow dryer in the right side of the cover, this heats up the side with switch plates, rectifer, and most of your wireing. about 2-3 minutes with blow dryer and 3,4,5,6 would start firing.

pump ball til solid, turn key 1/2 way and prime carbs by pushing key in 4 times. turn key to start. never starts, so I take blow dryer and blow dry motor for 2 to 3 minutes, and try again. if motor tries to start I know that it warm enough and keep doing this till it starts. if it doesn't try to start I do blow dryer a little longer, and repeat. takes a few times then starts and onces it starts and run a little bit u can shut motor off. if motor stays warm it will start with just a quick turn of the key, couldn't ask of a better running motor then. just don't know if it is the power packs, rectifier, trigger and these parts are not the cheapest just to be guessing.

    try this....
    pump bulb.
    trim ALL tha way in.
push key and hold while tryin' ta start. might start but will at least belch, fart or TRY ta start. let off key completely.....
trim to level, raise fast idle ever so slightly
hit start without key pushed... should start, if not bump enrichner again while tryin' ta start...

it takes a lotta gas ta start a cold merc... don't be scared!

" No Fire"... Guessing you actually have no spark when cold? Just clarifying?
Mercury's enrichment circuit does not fuel cyl's 1 &2, just 3456. It pulls fuel from carbs 12 then gravity feeds it to 34 56 carbs.

A DVA ^^ ( Digital Volt Amp meter ) will allow you to test the output of the suspected switch boxes to the coils in question 3456. If you have a Mercury Shop Manual it will give you the sequence of this test. If you don't have one PM me and I'll scan the page's out of mine, and send it back to you.

Or maybe someone has a shop manual in a PDF for him?

    PM sent with video link.

You don't need Mercury's DVA direct voltage adapter to test this. Some DVOM's have the function built ( peak voltage function ) in. My fluke 88 has it built in.

If yours does not eBay has the aftermarket ones that plug in between your DVOM and the test leads.
