    Which Carbs to use question

Being the WH series carbs are basically the same. Is there a difference on why you would use a particular carb for lower hp engines or a different carb for high horsepower engines. Besides the jets.
On my 1983 all chrome Oval Port Mod Vp it has WH39's with slosh tubes and plate. On my 1984 all chrome Oval Port it has WH22's with out slosh tubes and plates. I will not be doing U turns at 70mph.
But I'm in the process of putting together my heavily ported jon wright 2.5 7 pedal carb engine. It doesn't have carbs currently and Im not too sure what carbs would be a good match for a high powered carb engine like this or the jetting.
Any info would be a great starting point for me.
    Thanks

The first 225hp 14 pedal reed front used WH-15`s but hard to find. WH-20`s or 22`s would be my choice. Matter of fact I have 20`s on my bridge port.

I have used 22`s a lot and can`t tell any difference altho the 20`s measure a tad bigger.

So some carbureted motors can beat out the injected motors right?

Do you mean that you have carbs only for the middles? You say you have a set. A set would be all three carbs. Top Middle and Bottom. Let me know.

the only difference between the top, middle ,and bottom carbs is the fitting on the top of the carb where the enrichment hoses hook up. That and the top carb has a fitting in the bowl to go to the solenoid for the enrichment circuit.
Just change the bowl from a top carb and block off the fitting on the top of the carb.
The bottom carb just block off one side of the T fitting.
The carbs are all the same excepted for what was noted.
For $20 each it worth a little hassle to make them work.
Or you could do what I did and make a pressure feed enrichment system that goes to all the carbs not just the bottom two.Click image for larger version.
