anybody ever put 40 amp electrics on a 260 ?

was just wondering if that was feasible,if say, a fella' had a fresh 260 and didn't want to buy a 225 promax,? and needed 40 amps to run on a bass fishin' boat ? I've seen several 225pm's that are vst delete, and run 260 fuel setup. but can't say i've seen a 260 with 40 amp cdi setup.

not really, reliability has been a problem with the alternators in the kit, I've got a few of them running around, looking at trying to adapt the 3 litre v belt alternator to his brackets. as far as putting the 40 a system on the 260, it can be done but the heavy flywheel would be a problem, jeff dunn and Brendan powers make a liteweight 40a flywheel, which would be the way to go.
