I was wondering ----when would someone ask???

This the only pic I have--I got it from Sam--Didn't he and Dave start a thread on here years ago?

All these pics are of the early 'Studs Down' unit--no 'steady rest' bearing--huge 'O' ring between the upper and lower--- had to pull the powerhead to change the 'LORD' rubber bushed driveshaft---real BEAR to work on--and to get any service life from--

    Real ugly, Sam!

Hence the Charlie Strang omc twin pinion with shift dog on the propshaft was genius done way back then resurectted in the F1 V8 offshore

I have several of these gearcases both BP and Super BP plus a couple boxes of parts. I had some broken Pinion shafts( I was told a long time ago that was one of their weak points but Gene says not and he would probably know as I have never run one.) and there is also a broken shift fork in one box. I know I asked Steckbauer years ago and he said he wouldn't touch one again. I know that I have looked at all the parts and cases and I sure do not have the ability to put one back together(and it work)!

I bought this BP about 10 years ago out of California. It sat under a Awning in the high desert. It had the fill plug out of it. It was completely full of sand and was basically junk. I guess all the sand blowing around all those years filled her up.
