Remember the cheap ass lionel train set you put the liquid in the locomotives stack and it would make smoke come out of it ( priceless)

Wow--guess there were some not so nice things in the 50s too, but that was great!

We had some of the same stuff when I was a kid in the 1970's. Even though I was only four and five in the mid 1970's. I remember my brother sending away for stuff like X-ray glasses. When we moved to Vancouver in 1975 from Victoria. I was around four and remember seeing the Lionel train sets the previous owners left in the basement for some reason. When we moved to the suburbs in 1978, I took all the trains with me. Spent the next few months setting up a new track set up on ply wood, placing the buildings, etc. Learned paper marche, etc. It was fun.

I now know what I'm getting the nephew for his seventh birthday this Feb. A train starter set

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kato-Canadia...oAAOSw34FVENVL

The advantage of my small town, most of my family and relatives live here. My plan is not only getting my nephew into it, more for the building of the set up. But can get his cousins into it as well.

We have a lot of family and friends over for holidays and just for fun. Id rather the boys play with trains and building a scale landscape with their hands VS playing PlayStation or X-Box. Now just got too figure out how to get the girls off social media for the day!

Thanks for the link. Gave me great ideas.

I agree, I hated my heavy, bad handling, 55 Nomad, with 390hp 427, power steering, disc in front.
