Wilbur Goltz
Just wondering if anyone Remembers/Knew Wilbur?
My shop is about a mile from where his residence and shop was located here in SE Oklahoma. Spoke with him many times up until his passing several years ago....A super guy that held several records way back when!!!
Just trying to find out a little more about his history as he never really would speak much of details!

Even though Wilbur spent his later years in Oklahoma I have reason to believe he lived around Fremont, Wisconsin when younger.
I found this newspaper script by surfing Google:

The Wolf River event has been sponsored annually for past several years by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce. Wilbur Goltz and Jack j Looter were in charge of solicitations among businessmen to finance the races. This event attracts more than the average number of racers because of the trophies involved, and has been one of the outstanding attractions on the Wolf River during the summer season.
