    What can I test with a DVA?

    I got a DVA adapter for my DVM based on advice from guys here. Can I test pretty much the whole ignition system with it? Stator, timing plate/trigger, and switch boxes/power packs?

    What about coils?

    What about voltage regulators?

    While I'm redoing carbs/water pump/installing CCM reeds, I figure I might as well hit up the ignition system with a DVA just make sure everything looks good there too, right?

    I've been using my 2.0L power head for a couple of seasons and exactly as I got it from eBay. Never checked anything out. It ran fine for the past two years, but I want to do the CCM reeds, so I might as well do everything, I figured.

    The DVA is for the stator, timer base and switch box output. The coils are tested with an ohm meter and spark checker. Volt meter, ammeter and ohm meter for the charging, starting and other electrical systems.

    You can test everything in these charts that apply to your ignition...

    Or, find any ignition issue using their troubleshooting guide;
