Can this be saved an restored or is this to much weather damage?
Ok if it has been sitting all that time there will be some really important things to look for mostly structural stuff ! transom wood!, floor !,stringers !and if it been on a trailer its possibly settled and have indentations in the hull from pressure points even to the point of a hook in the keel from the weight pressing down and time its been sitting on what ever !! so the gel coat and metal flake is a small problem !
Messing round with boats is fun !! the learning never stops ,even after more than 30 years there's always something new happening somewhere ! BUT somethings never change and some problems never go away and just keep reoccurring !!so moved into Composite Forensics , Now that something completely new !!

Thank you for the info, it makes sense and also explains how the transom looked bent back at the top. Over the years the wood transom gradually rotted away and the glass bent backwards but did not break. Which would mean that with the weight all on the rear of the boat, the indentations in the Hull would be from the rear of the trailer bolsters.

In true reality unless you are prepared to do a complete restoration as in complete end to end inside and out simply walk away ! The restore will also include the trailer that could be a scarp job or get a new one !! think of weeks of grinding sanding repaint and new bunks and new tires ,wheel rims and hubs etc etc need i say more ! its a major !! All and everything can be repaired BUT is it worth the time effort and months or even running into years of work ?? .

You are absolutely right and this one even if it were free would ever be worth more than the materials it would take to revive it.
Thanks for your input on all of my posts.
I thank everyone on this sight, the information here is invaluable.

restoration is a work of love ! Its is so time consuming and the expense you shouldn't think about !!But at the end you have a beautiful work of art !!. to keep it in that pristine condition also takes lots of effort and great care and a lot of commitment !!

Thanks for the pm. Unfortunately Florida is 11 hours away. But I did get on Craigslist Florida and there is some pretty unique boats down there. Saw three or four that were right in line with my interests.

From how it reads you probably couldn't find a better deal.
