The way it was explained to me was the ones with above water exhaust are race offshore mids, and I can't think of any of them that are marked with an "offshore" decal (thinking 2.5 EFI, 260, 280). The 3.4L motors have the beefier transom bracket w/single ram and remote trim pump, which may be why they got an "offshore" sticker (as opposed to the bass/3 ram setup), but even then I think I remember a 3.0 carb 225 w/out above-water exhaust having a 3 ram bracket and an "offshore" sticker.....

Plenty of mention of "race" or "racing" with the above water exhaust, a little mention of "offshore", but only one offshore sticker on the racing models. You'll find dozens of offshore stickers on fishing motors.Last edited by Spdrcr29; 02-19-2017 at 11:30 PM.
