What's the advantage of having the blades "clipped" off like that?

I have no idea....I was advised to try a 4 blade in 23 to 25P and work up to a Ballistic prop. The 4 Blade SS 20P made a world of difference in the attitude of my boat so I am just slowly working up the pitch line.

did you find the Ballistic to be a bow lifter ?

they do look a bit weird, and the blades are real thin. but also tons of cup to the cut of lips.

also notice your 4 blade has the shorter hub than a 3 blade, I have one of the 3 blades and the hub length is crazy long,.

Haven't been able to try the Ballistic yet. Barely installed the 22P Apollo at the tell end of the summer and didn't get to play much due to the weather and lack of water.

the prop in the top pic looks similar to a few ive seen on 30 to 50hp motors on inflatable cats (zap cat type boats).

Looks like a pretty sharp prop, and got nice big vents in too. ( I do like vented props)
