Assuming you are talking Jaco's? There are no shortage of people who do business there. They move a lot of motors. Generally have some of the best prices in the country because of the sheer volume. I believe my dad called there a few years ago debating buying one and that 8300 number seems correct.

Yes, Jaco's... But If I can save a grand or two, it's worth it to me to buy local. Money lost for A few days out of work, hotel rooms, gas, and driving down there would cost a grand easy.
Haha - Already have a Force 90... It's a little Icy at the moment haha. I'd replace it with a 120 though, sure!
New boat = new motor! Old boat gets the old motors.
So anyone else know of a difference between the computer program and +300rpm.... and fancy stickers??1) 1995 14' Bayliner Restoration <--Click

So A 115 Pro XS from Bass Pro will run you around $8400... 4" vessel view, another grand... and odds and ends / wiring / cables... another 400
Sounds like a great deal to me !!!
I would definitely rather support the local marinas... but at the price quote of 13500... OUCH...1) 1995 14' Bayliner Restoration <--Click

They do the volume, a new 20 tiller short manual was going for $1850 up here a while back. Still a big $ for 115hp.

Interesting. There must be a heck of a current or the wind was very detrimental. I run on rivers quite a bit and interesting enough, two way averages are typically less than current for some reason? My only conclusion is my boat seems easier to drive upstream and is slightly more efficient.
Did the head wind make the boat too flighty? That is typically what is what makes my runs into a head wind more conservative... Amazing how much less is needed due to aero lift as well....

It was faster with a tail wind, I could have had a better return run into the headwind with a few more goes I think but the wind went and the lake flattened off again! It runs very flat, and relatively wet but the steps take care of the efficiency - that's why our average is so much higher in choppy races as it's very stable and doesn't need to fly.
the first pic here is on our best run of 75, the other pic is a direct comparison of my old Bernico and the Phantom. Exactly the same motor, and 10mph difference in speed despite it looking like it's running very wet. You really can't beat well designed steps in an offshore boat!
