A non-smoking room at the Days Inn is like a non-pissing section in a swimming pool. Every room Ive had there smells like smoke.

Hope that's not the case as I can't/won't deal with a smokey room. Where did you stay there that met your expectations? Might look into a backup plan, and I can still cancel my reservation if it comes down to it.

I think that "one room left" deal on their booking is a scam. I got that message when I booked mine, and they still had rooms last time I checked.

Its the nicest place around. My wife is really bothered by smoke and Im not a fan. Last time they had to move us. Said they were booked but they still had a room for us that didnt smell too bad.

Didn't smell too bad is still pretty discouraging.

I'm bringing that extra 15 gallons of fuel and putting it in the back of my boat, just for you. Gonna make John Walsh ride back there too. Might even pick up a fat chick to put in the middle.

I wish I could make it in time for the lower run Friday. I asked before, but are any of you late Friday arrivals going to run on Sunday? I'd like to see the lower side of the river while I'm there. I'll run it alone if I have to, but it would be more fun with some others. Looks like there are no nav markers past the entrance from the Gulf, so it might be "interesting" to run without local knowledge.
